This privacy notice for Daimo, Inc ("we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your information when you use our services ("Services"), such as when you:

  • Use Daimo, our noncustodial platform for accepting and sending payments across wallets, chains, stablecoins, and fiat rails
  • Visit our website or use any application that links to this privacy notice
  • Engage with us in other related ways, including any sales, marketing, or events

Daimo is a noncustodial software provider. We never take custody of, control, or hold user funds. All transactions are executed on public blockchains via smart contracts. We facilitate payment routing and bridging but do not act as a financial institution or custodian.

SUMMARY

What personal information do we process? For crypto-to-crypto transactions, we do not require any personal information such as your name, phone number, or address. We may store limited technical information related to API usage, such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, operating system version, the time and date of your use of the Services, and other statistics, for a limited retention period.

For transactions involving fiat currency (on-ramps and off-ramps), identity verification (KYC) is required by applicable law. This information is collected via a third-party identity verification partner and shared — with your consent — with the local ramp provider processing your transaction. Daimo does not store this information.

Do we process any sensitive personal information? For crypto-to-crypto transactions, we do not process any sensitive personal information. For fiat ramp transactions, identity verification data is collected by a third-party partner and shared with the applicable ramp provider. Daimo does not retain this data. All application logs are stored with a limited retention window.

Do we receive any information from third parties? We do not receive any information from third parties.

How do we process your information? We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent. We process your information only when we have a valid legal reason to do so.

In what situations and with which parties do we share personal information? We may share technical information related to API usage with specific third parties in specific situations, such as for log aggregation.

For fiat ramp transactions, we collect identity data via a third-party partner and share it with the local ramp provider processing your transaction.

How do we keep your information safe? We have organizational and technical processes and procedures in place to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.

What are your rights? Depending on where you are located geographically, the applicable privacy law may mean you have certain rights regarding your personal information.

How do you exercise your rights? The easiest way to exercise your rights is by emailing privacy@daimo.com. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

In Short: Minimal information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you use our Services. For fiat ramp transactions, identity verification data is collected by a third-party partner and shared with the applicable ramp provider.

Crypto-to-crypto transactions

Crypto-to-crypto transactions do not require any personal information. Transactions are processed on public blockchains using smart contracts. No identity verification is required.

Fiat on/off-ramp transactions

Identity Verification. When you use fiat on-ramps or off-ramps, identity verification (KYC) is required by applicable law. This data is collected by a third-party identity verification partner and shared — with your consent — with the local ramp provider processing your transaction. Daimo does not store this identity verification data. AML/CFT compliance is the responsibility of the ramp providers we integrate with.

Application data

If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:

  • Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account. If you wish to opt out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device's settings.

Information automatically collected

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information.

This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Note that we only collect logs related to API usage server-side. We retain them for a limited period.

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.

We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:

4. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records.
